As Honda broke ground on a new factory in southern Indiana. I sat in my Indianapolis apartment and thought the cycle is starting all over again. Indiana has focused it's economy on two main things manufacturing jobs and agriculture. Although these are both good sources of revenue for our economy I can't help but think of all the closed or closing manufacturing plants around the state. Although the union had a large helping hand in this they are not the main reason for the cyclical nature of manufacturing. My perspective on the union will be entirely different blog. Manufacturing will go were the labor and taxes are the cheapest. We need to get more high tech jobs in the state along with more white collar work. We have some of the best medical and technology schools in the country unfortunately most of the students leave the state when they graduate. We need to have our government work to get more of these jobs in our state.
